CassinI I & II

DOB: 1988 and 1991

Cassini I and II are the sons of the famous jumper-maker Capitol I, who passed on his grey colour – his trademark – to many of his off-spring. Just like Gotthard in Hannover, it was Capitol who made "white" modern again in Holstein.  After his off-spring started to impress everyone by their performance on jumping courses and breeders made sure the mares they bred to him had enough thoroughbred in his pedigrees, a number of interesting sons were licensed during his last years.

Cassini I & II are out of a daughter of the "ideal" Holstein stallion Caletto II who died in an accident after only four breeding seasons.  Even during his lifetime Caletto II  was extremely popular and this early assessment proved to be right. His off-spring in showjumping are among the best.  At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona Spain, his outstanding daughter Classic Touch won the gold medal under Ludger Beerbaum, putting another jewel in his crown. Through Mahmud, the valuable refinement bloodlines of the famous thoroughbred stallion Marlon are anchored in the family tree.  The dam Wisma gave birth to Cassini II in 1996, both licensed grey stallion who are owned by the Holstein Verband and are very popular with breeders. This dam line is also known for stallions Caleri, Cassaro, Lovari and Clarimo.

Cassini I's performance record included tests for young jumpers under Bo Kristoffersen and a placing at the Bundeschampionat. Franke Sloothaak then took over and the couple placed in many European Championships including first place in the Grand Prix of Arnheim, NED. First places in Nations Cups and placings in World Cups followed. Among Cassini's I's off-spring include over 16 State Premium mares and 30 licensed stallions. An incredible number of them are successful in international competitions. Cumano, Eurocommerce Berlin, Carino, Cheers Cassini, Chatwin are other internationally successful Cassini I horses.

Cassini II, the younger full brother of Cassini I, was approved in Holstein in 1996 with a high jumping index. Unfortunately he was injured when young and did not compete in sport although is now sought after as a sire due to his quality and talented offspring. At his Licensing he achieved high scores for his jumping as well as for his character and temperament. Cassini I & II are sons of the great Capitol I. Capitol I was on the top of the WBFSH (World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses) rankings lists 2000-2001.
