Noblewood Park Cougar

DOB: 2001
Breeding: Collins x Cadence (Coriander x Lord) – Holsteiner Stamm 776

Noblewood Park Cougar is an Australian-bred Holsteiner stallion whose pedigree combines some of Europe’s most influential showjumping and dressage bloodlines. He is sired by the imported German stallion Collins, who himself descends from Calando I (by the legendary Cor de la Bryère) out of a Caletto II mare, bringing a powerful double cross to Holstein’s foundation sire. Collins was imported to Australia in 1998 and quickly established himself as an elite jumper, winning classes up to 1.50m, being crowned Horse of the Year, and later representing Australia internationally, including selection as Reserve Horse for the 2003 Olympic Qualification event in Aachen.

Cougar’s dam is the imported State Premium German mare Cadence, by Coriander out of Doreen I (by Lord). Coriander is renowned in Holstein for producing offspring with the quietest minds, exceptional rideability, elastic movement, and effective shoulders, ranking as Leading Sire of Sporthorses in Germany in his age group for three consecutive years. Cadence herself descends from the famous Holsteiner Stamm 776, a damline that has produced numerous international sires and champions including Calvados I & II, Cortino I & II, Lordanos, Ramirado, Contiki, Toledo, and the world-class foundation sire Ramiro.

Cougar is a well-balanced stallion with modern type, correct conformation, and a ground-covering, powerful canter. He was described as a dream horse to train, with a naturally generous attitude, optimum rideability, and impressive scope over fences. His structure combines long legs, an elegant neck, and strong topline, making him versatile and desirable for both showjumping and dressage breeding.

As a sire, Cougar is living up to his pedigree’s integrity, producing foals of exceptional type, temperament, and athleticism. His progeny are known for their compact modern frames, impressive gaits, and innate love for jumping. Breeders consistently note their correct conformation, powerful canter, careful technique, and strong presence in the ring. Many of his foals display his distinctive markings of white socks and a star, adding to their striking appearance.

Cougar crosses extremely well over both thoroughbred and warmblood mares, offering Australian breeders the rare opportunity to access Holsteiner Stamm 776 combined with the proven sires Collins, Coriander, Calando I, and Lord. Whether aiming to produce elite showjumpers or versatile eventers, Noblewood Park Cougar’s progeny continue to uphold his legacy of performance, rideability, and exceptional type.
